Outfitters Supply is the leader in equine saddlebag design and manufacturing. Why? Because we have used, repaired and sold saddlebags for over 20 years. For a while, we used and sold other brands of saddlebags, and often complained about the poor quality and design of the packs available on the market. Often, those same saddle bags would come into our shop for repair and we’d listen to the same complaints from our customers.
Finally, we gave up on finding the perfect bag and created our own TrailMax line. Beginning with the Original TrailMax Saddlebag System, we redesigned the bags to ensure that they (1) stayed on the horse without shifting or flapping (2) easily held enough lightweight gear for a multi-day ride and (3) were of high enough quality to last as long as our desire to ride down the trail. Since designing the Original System, we’ve added to the TrailMax line: the Junior Saddlebag System, two sizes of endurance pommel bags, the Daytripper Cantlebag, the Pommel Pocket and most recently, the innovative 500 Series saddle pockets and pommel bags. Quality and design functionality have always been our top priorities, and we will continue adding to our product line utilizing the newest advances in design and material technology.
Of course, more traditional bags have their purpose as well, and we have searched out all the best in that category as well. Cavalry style saddlebags have been in use for over a hundred years, but are difficult to find. So, we make two sizes in our Outfitters Supply shop out of the best latigo leather we can find. We’ve also designed a simple, extremely functional and durable canvas saddlebag, and carry excellent leather saddlebags from Tucker Saddle and Tory Leather Products.
